On June 29th, Shanghai Ranking officially released the Shanghai Ranking’s Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS) 2020. There are 9 disciplines of NJUPT on the list, which has increased by 1 compared to 2019. Additionally, 4 of them rank higher in the list, and Communication Engineering improves its rank to 25th in the world. Some engineering-related results of NJUPT are classified into transportation engineering journals according to Shanghai Ranking’s internationalization bibliometric statistics, and Transportation Engineering hits the list for the first time and ranks 37th in the world. NJUPT ranks 84th in the total number of disciplines in the Global Ranking of Academic Subjects 2020 in Chinese mainland.
in 2020, gras targets universities with a certain number of papers published in specific disciplines from 2014 to 2018, covering 54 disciplines, including science, engineering, life science, medicine and social science, and involves five indicators: total number of papers, standardized influence of papers, proportion of international collaborative papers, number of top journals, and number of authoritative awards won by faculty. moreover, the ranking index system has been greatly adjusted, which pays more attention to the comparative analysis of international comparable indexes. moreover, the system sets different index weighting coefficients for different disciplines, which can reflect the international competitiveness of world-class disciplines to a certain extent.
